The Christian Church must lead the charge to save America

We can no longer disengage from any of the battlefields where the war is being waged. We must confront this demonic enemy head-on. The repercussions of losing this war are quite serious. If the church falls, so does America.

Many will say that it doesn't matter whether America falls. God is in control, so just sit back and trust Him. The problem with this kind of mentality is it's a very fatalistic view, and not backed up by Scripture of history.

Is God in control of everything? Absolutely! He is sovereign and all-powerful. With that said, he has also given us free will. Both God's sovereignty and our free will are working together at the same time. Often times, theologians will focus primarily on one side or the other. To a certain degree, there is tension between both sides when they are both true.

God uses men and women to fulfill his purposes. We don't know how things will work out, but God does. Throughout world history, He has used the faithful obedience of small groups of people and even individuals to ultimately change the trajectory of mankind.

In the Old Testament, we saw David, a young shepherd boy, take a stand against the giant, Goliath, who was insulting God and intending to destroy Israel. Now, David could've simply gone about his day, like many modern Christians do, telling himself, "I'll just trust that God will take care of that giant. He's in control. If I try to do something about this, it will show I don't have faith." While it is true that God is in control no matter what, we see that He used David's faithfulness to destroy Goliath and protect the nation of Israel.

Another example of this is Martin Luther. He was just an everyday priest. Not a big, famous theological with a huge following. Yet he saw a problem happening within the Catholic Church and decided to take a stand. Again, he could've just changed his own church, beginning to preach the true Gospel and reform his local community. He could've just gone about his day, citing God's sovereignty and faith in Him. Yet, he took it upon himself to take a stand, which then God used to bring about the Reformation to break away from the Catholic Church.

Why would he take a stand if he understood that God was in control? Why would he risk his life? Because God uses individual men and women to reform His church and do the right thing. Just sitting back and doing nothing is not behavior that glorifies God.

We are called to be obedient. We are all called to rise up. Nowhere in Scripture does it say that non-action is the right way to go or that this shows our "faith in God." Despite this never appearing in the Bible, it is preached from Christian pulpits across America. We are not called to be a Church that is inactive or unengaged in the society around us.

Paul went out into the world to preach the Gospel in the streets, in the marketplaces and even in pagan temples. He was a tentmaker, presumably coming in contact with the lost on a daily basis simply through his work. He caused a ruckus wherever he went, preaching and confronting the sinful cultures he was coming into contact with. We should do the same.

I pray that the book Church & State: How the Left Used the Church to Conquer America will help you to understand the importance of the war that we are in the midst of. Each of the contributing authors see the threat we are facing and all are willing to do something about it. We are engaging in culture, politics and the church to bring about the proper change that will glorify God the most.

This is do or die time. We are literally facing the potential for the end of America. If America falls, it will be because the Christian Church failed to defend itself from the enemy. May this never happen!

May America return to its former glory, become the nation our Founding Fathers originally intended for us. May we promote freedom and liberty, and only then can we return to being a truly Christian nation. However, that will only happen if we do our part. We must preach the Gospel, we must transform the culture and we must engage in politics. This is the war we must fight!
