The team from Mass Resistance join Bobby Lopez during this episode of The Big Brown Gadfly to discuss Charlie Kirk, his influence within Conservatism and whether he's good for the movement or not. On one hand he's been a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump, yet he's also been more a Libertarian than a Conservative. Or he could be better described as an anti-Socialist. Kirk has also been promoting the LGBTQ and Drag Queen lifestyle. Does this lifestyle have a place within Conservatism?
One of the biggest criticisms regarding Charlie Kirk is that he is not promoting Conservative values and is reflecting Biblical Christianity. His embracement and promotion of the gay lifestyle, as well as platforming drag queens at his events, is deeply concerning to those that believe in Christian and family values.
For many, this has been one of the weaknesses of the Donald Trump movement. While he's fought for our Constitutional Rights and Religious Freedoms more than virtually any other president in our lifetime, there's also been an embracement of sinful behavior within the Conservative movement. This is something that was unheard of under previous administrations.
While Charlie Kirk is finding a home with Conservative audiences, we must be clear that he is not a Conservative. He's a Libertarian at best, if not nothing more than an anti-Socialist. This does not qualify you as a Conservative. As Christians, we have to be aware of the difference between Libertarian and Conservative ideology, especially in the era of Donald Trump where that line is blurred, making it difficult to tell the difference.
