Idolatry: Single Christianity

For over six years the evangelical media, conferences and pulpits have been flooded with Same Sex Attracted (but) Celibate homosexuals and LGBT. Missing from the SSA Crew are the thousands of testimonies of people have have clean escaped their sexual past through faith in Christ. Somehow, these people whose testimonies of victory and grace which celebrate the true power of the Gospel and the Cross of Christ no longer exist in the “SSA world”. They (the SSA and their talking points) have nothing more to offer than “celibacy or mixed orientation marriage ” i.e, a homosexual who marries a heterosexual and hopes for the best.Thousands of such “marriages ” of untransformed people end badly on a regular basis.
Where will this SSA idol and its false gospel end? It will continue its activist march from “unchanging homosexual orientation" toward affirming marriage, adoption, foster care and the full redefinition of family in and accepted by the church. In short this “idolatry of singleness" ends is mass apostasy.
The celibate SSA narrative emerged like a well oiled machine in 2010 from the Lausanne Movement meetings in South Africa. It is really a replacement of the activist transitional language of “Non Practicing Homosexual” used on the mainline denominations as they were move three to four decades into affirming and ordaining practicing homosexuals .
Now the modern SSA evangelical celibate celebrities are calling our our family models “Idols” while they push for redefining Christian family and call the church to support “Single Adoption and Foster Care". This movement is being led by Russell Moore of the Southern Baptist ERLC and the host of SSA Celibate Celebrities he introduced to the church in 2014.
Some examples of SSA Celebrity A listers:
Sam Allberry is among the most popular of the SSA celebs. Like Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian, anyone who wants to host a Christian Conference must pay Allberry to appear at the party. Now Allberry’s star is tarnished since some Southern Baptist pastors finally read his website after 6 years of endlessly promoting him, Allberry promoted the Revoice Conference “for his US audience” and since he and Tim/Kathy Keller decided they were entitled to “audit the LGBT Inclusiveness of our churches” from the UK/Living Out church offices. How nice of the Kellers, and Sam Allberry remains editor of all things “LGBTQ Christian” at TGC and Ravi Zacarias ministries and is still a regular on the A-list circuit.
Rosaria Butterfield offers a slightly alternative message as a “former activist academic lesbian turned pastors wife and homeschool mom," but since the dawning of Revoice and its narrative driven by critical theory, Rosaria’s background in Gender, Queer and Feminine Theory has taken on expanded consideration of her rise to the A-List. Rosaria’s bio is informing. Was she chosen by the TGC and ERLC for A-list status because of her testimony or her background, from which the “Idolatry of Family" emerged decades ago?
https://rosariabutterfield.com/biography
Her primary academic field was critical theory, specializing in queer theory. Her historical focus was 19th-century literature, informed by Freud, Marx, and Darwin. She advised the LGBT student group, wrote Syracuse University’s policy for same-sex couples, and actively lobbied for LGBT aims alongside her lesbian partner.
Rosaria does not like the term “Gay Christian”, but does echo the mainstream SSA Celebrity narrative denouncing “ex-gay ministry” efforts and pounds the hospitality and singles adoption and foster care narratives with Allberry and Russell Moore.
Christopher Yuan is another star among the SSA list. He began his SSA work touring with his mom about the same time Revoice Nate Collins was touring with his Dad Chip. Yuan's central message began focusing on “The problem this project addresses is the sense of marginalization experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual (LGB) and same-sex attracted (SSA) Christian college and university students”, Yuan continues the mainstreaming of the SSA narrative in his recent addition to the Biola-led “Rethink Apologetics” which gives a “Revoice Lite“ approach to the LGBTQ+ issues.
Yuan’s book Giving a Voice to the Voiceless echoes the ideology of Revoice Nate Collins' book titled All But Invisible.
You can read more on the Feminist Theology origins of the Idolatry of Family and the mainstreaming of it by SSA A-Listers here.
WHO IS PROMOTING IDOLS, THE HISTORIC BIBLICAL FAMILY OR THE SSA CELEBRITIES?
So, we must decide if true family is what God Created it to be through natural procreation and familial bonds and boundaries. Or, if we have become so informed that family is defined by what feminist theologians, secular psychologist, political activism, and the ERLC/Russell Moore/Tim Keller, many of our seminary leaders and the growing list of A-list SSA Christian Celebrities wish to define what constitutes family. Given the evangelical landscape is now flooded with Critical Theory and Intersectionality, it is highly recommended that faithful believers choose the Word of God and the divine origins and design for family.

“SINGLENESS AND PASTORAL LEADERSHIP”
“A healthy marriage is a tremendous gift and blessing. Marriage is God’s idea, and it is to be held in honor (Heb. 13:4). But one may also serve and glorify God in singleness. We follow a Savior who was single, and the greatest church planter ever—the apostle Paul—was also single. Single pastors have various advantages in ministry, such as flexibility in schedule.”
TGC SSA FAVORITE CHRISTOPHER YUAN SINGLES NARRATIVE
YUAN AND MOM

The problem this project addresses is the sense of marginalization experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual (LGB) and same-sex attracted (SSA) Christian college and university students. Data was collected via an online questionnaire and the study design mixed methods with an emphasis on the qualitative data. The study sample included eighty students/alumni from thirty-two Christian colleges/universities. Generally, respondents felt lonely, hid their sexuality, and reported a negative campus climate. Recommendations from respondents include: institutional policies must be clearer and applied consistently, improve campus climate, and form support groups for LGB and SSA students.

FOR INSIDE PAGES:
Fascinating. With candor and compassion, Christopher Yuan combines personal history, impressive research, biblical insights and practical recommendations to sexuality on the campuses of Christian colleges and universities. This is the book to read on Christian faith and sexual identity at Christian colleges. Giving a Voice to the Voiceless is a book for every campus constituency from students to presidents, administrators, alumni, faculty, parents, trustees, donors and more!
–Leith Anderson, President, National Association of Evangelicals
Christopher Yuan has done careful research on the experience of students who navigate their same sex attraction or orientation at Christian colleges and universities. His wise and practical recommendations–firmly rooted in a faithful biblical ethic for human sexuality–will help campus leaders care for all of their students with truth and grace.
–Philip Ryken, President, Wheaton College
Giving a Voice to the Voiceless is an invaluable study of the experiences of college students who struggle with same-sex attraction on well-meaning Christian college campuses. Indeed the glossary alone is worth the price of the book. Faithful, biblical students who hold to a traditional view of sexuality and who struggle with SSA are even more voiceless today than they were years ago, as the rise of LGBT rights on college campuses does not speak for faithful Christians or reflect the complex emotions and challenges that students face. This book is a healing balm for these students and will edify, equip, and encourage. It is a must-read book for every college administrator.
–Rosaria Butterfield, Author; Speaker
Based on a pioneering study, this book provides relevant insights and counsel for Christian colleges and universities seek
Yuan's recent book has a forward by Rosaria Butterfield and drives the “Singleness” talking points.
“ABOUT HOLY SEXUALITY AND THE GOSPEL”
From the author of Out of a Far Country, which details his dramatic conversion from an agnostic gay man who put his identity in his sexuality to a Bible professor who now puts his identity in Christ alone, comes a gospel-centered discussion of sex, desire, and relationships.
Dr. Christopher Yuan explores the concept of holy sexuality–chastity in singleness or faithfulness in marriage–in a practical and relevant manner, equipping readers with an accessible yet robust theology of sexuality. Whether you want to share Christ with a loved one who identifies as gay or you’re wrestling with questions of identity yourself, this book will help you better understand sexuality in light of God’s grand story and realize that holy sexuality is actually good news for all.
In Dr. Christopher Yuan’s Holy Sexuality and the Gospel, you are holding in your hands the most important humanly composed book about biblical sexuality and godly living for our times.
—Rosaria Butterfield, PhD, speaker and author”
Yuan again draws endorsement of Leith Anderson President of the NAE who which offered total compromise earlier in 2019 with the LGBT agenda along with the CCCU.
Christopher Yuan pivots from human sexuality to holy sexuality as he writes with passion and compassion, scholarship and spirituality, personal experience and practical expertise.
