I’m excited to finally bring you guys this announcement: The GateKeepers and Freedom First Network are joining forces to bring you Cancelled: Enough is Enough! This will be a live-streaming event this Saturday, September 12th, where our amazing lineup of speakers will be confronting the evils of Cancel Culture.
As Christians, it’s very easy to complain about getting cancelled by the Progressive Left. The Democrats are very anti-Christian and anti-God, so they see us as an ideology that needs to be destroyed. However, we also have to remember that we are not immune to cancelling those that WE disagree with. This is a part of why I chose to allow The GateKeepers to be a part of this online conference. Christians need to stop cancelling opposing point of views.
I’m sure that Bobby Lopez, host of The Big Brown Gadfly right here on The GK Podcast Network, will be discussing his experience with Cancel Culture both within Evangelical Christianity as well as in the academic world. These are two areas where we should be promoting Free Speech and Free Expression. If you find someone to be off base, then you need to provide a superior argument to refute them, as opposed to getting them fired or destroyed altogether.
The rest of the lineup, which includes Milo Yiannopoulos, Denise McAllister and Nick Searcy, will be exposing just how widespread this has gotten. Milo has been literally kicked off of all the mainstream social media platforms, exposing the fact that many Americans are simply not supporting true Free Speech. Denise has experienced Cancel Culture within the Conservative movement, which is a reminder that cancelling is not limited just to the Left. And Nick Searcy will explain how the Hollywood system is setup to push a particular narrative, and if you disagree they’ll kick you out of their club and now allow your films to get made. Each of these perspectives is vitally important to understand if we are going to shut down this sinister mentality.
Now, you might be asking, Why would The GateKeepers participate in an event with non-Christians? Aren’t you violating the Biblical principle of separation? I’m glad you asked!
2 John 10-11, “If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.” Wouldn’t this apply to an event such as this? I would argue that this is referring to a different context. Let me explain.
In this passage, the Apostle John was referring to false teachers that were traveling around, proclaiming a false gospel. They would visit the churches, use their hospitality and take advantage of them to get their heretical teachings out there. John was telling them not to assist them in this spiritual enterprise.
Ephesians 6:14 also points out that we are “not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers.” The majority of Biblical commentators point out that this is dealing with a spiritual enterprise, not just in everyday life.
This event is NOT entering into a spiritual enterprise with non-Christians. This is a cultural issue that needs to be confronted. Cancel Culture is prevalent both in secular society, as well as within the church. We are simply exposing this destructive tactic wherever it pops up.
I hope that you will join us for this exclusive live-streaming event on Saturday, September 12. With a lineup featuring Milo Yiannopoulos, Nick Searcy, Denise McAllister and Bobby Lopez, you know that we will confront Cancel Culture head-on, unapologetically. Join us for Cancelled: Enough is Enough! on Saturday as we livestream on Freedom First Network’s Periscope, Facebook and YouTube.
