Are we there yet?
In 1 Samuel 16:13 the prophet of God poured oil over little boy David's head, anointing him to be the King of God's choosing; "...and the spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward."
Twenty-one years later... In 2 Samuel 5:3 ordinary people finally accepted David as the King over Israel whom God had chosen.
The twenty-one years between David's calling by God to be a king and David's release into his authority as a King were very, very difficult.
During those twenty-one long and difficult years, young David had to fight a lion. He killed it. Young David had to fight a bear. He killed it. Young David had to fight a giant. He killed Goliath.
Why did little David do those remarkable things?
Because that's what Kings do.
Kings fight and defeat monsters.
Like David, when you were born-again you were called into a Kingdom and promised that you will "live and reign with Christ for a thousand years..." - (Revelation 20:4).
Between the day when the Spirit of the Lord came upon you "from that day forward" until you reach your full release into delegated kingdom authority like that described in Revelation 20:4... You too will fight lions, bears and giants. You will win against them if you will remember WHO came upon you "from that day forward" on the day you were first born-again.
Someday, you will see what John the Revelator saw with your own two eyes!
"And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them..." (Revelation 20:4).
Why will you defeat your lions, bears and giants?
Because that's what Kings do.
