Planned Parenthood is the #1 leading promoter of abortions. They try to market themselves as women’s health clinics, but what they do the most of is simply take the life away from innocent babies. Ultimately, these innocent lives are being given the ultimate punishment for the sins of their parents. I can’t think of another issue that our country has faced that is as unjust as the issue of abortion.
Now, when we think about doing something about abortion, one of two things typically come to mind.
1. Political activism 2. Westborough Baptist protests
When it comes to politics, this is one area of “social justice” that we, as the Biblical Church, should take up. We need to vote in politicians who will pass laws that make getting abortions more difficult and rare in occurrence. But there’s also the Christians that stand outside of abortion clinics protesting, chanting and yelling at those coming in and out. The thing is, many of us want to help protect these innocent lives, but we want to do it the right way, showing Christ’s love for them instead of hatred.
I recently had Pastor Ken Peters on my podcast, and he shared with me how he decided to do something that I’ve never heard anyone else do: He planted a church at Planned Parenthood. This is brilliant! Instead of protesting, they simply gather in the front lawn of their local clinic and have church. They worship God and hear the preaching of His Word. What better way to reach the lost than to bring the church to them to be able to see what true church is like?
It’s important that we understand that human life begins at conception. Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.” This is a very important point that we need to convey to the world: Life begins in the womb, and we must protect human life no matter how young or old they are! Pastor Ken’s strategy to plant a church at his local Planned Parenthood is a brilliant concept, which allows young women, who may be scared and unsure of what is the right thing to do in their situation, to see and hear about Christ’s love and hopefully hear the Gospel preached. Hopefully they’ll repent and place their faith in Jesus Christ, turning away from their sin and saving the life of their unborn baby.
I hope that this concept catches on! For more information, you can visit TheChurchAtPlannedParenthood.com. If you’d like to get involved or plant a church at your local abortion clinic, please contact Ken, and I know that he’ll be ecstatic to help you spread the love of Christ to the world… especially to these young women going to Planned Parenthood who need Christ dearly.
I hope that you’ll prayerfully consider how you might be able to help this cause. There’s a lot of problems in our country, and while we may have a lot of Christians who want their politicians to limit and end abortions, we should also look for ways that we can rise up and fix the situation ourselves. This is one of those ways. I’m thankful that my Brother in Christ, Pastor Ken Peters stepped up to make a change… and doing it the right way! Through the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
