The Christian, the Conservative and the McCain Paradox (Part 2)

Job 32:17-22 I too will answer my share, I also will tell my opinion. For I am full of words; The spirit within me constrains me. Behold, my belly is like unvented wine, Like new wineskins it is about to burst. Let me speak that I may get relief; Let me open my lips and answer. Let me now be partial to no one, Nor flatter any man. For I do not know how to flatter, Else my Maker would soon take me away.
As Elihu sat aside and let Job speak with his friends, he could restrain himself no more. In this context he criticized all of them for how they misrepresented God. He was pushed by the Holy Spirit, not yet given freely to all called men, and rightly spoke in turn. From this we should see how all Christians are to act in the public discourse.

The Conservative without restraint has spewed openly online - as well as the others who would not be Conservative but still were not of McCain support. I have watched as the other side falsely flatters about when they know they are elevating a man falsely for hidden pretenses and future profit. Then others spewed mockery, which has caused many who would normally oppose McCain and the man he was to not listen and, therefore, dig in their heels because of disgust.
I have been accused of mocking and celebrating the death of a man, even angrily accused of wishing ill upon all around him. None of that is true. This has become a large problem since his death. No longer is this anything about laying a loved one to rest. It's a tour of vengeance, right loathing and mockery of political opponents. To me, it would seem that the light has shined upon the darkness and revealed who this man truly was. Many have shared about the displeasing and troubling history concerning this newly minted media hero.
Many empathetic Christians have become angry at people who have seemingly criticized the life of McCain. Yet, the explosion, of which none could have seen, has made it impossible to not speak out while this is at the forefront. We now, in a man's bitter death, have to defend problematic truths about him because falsehoods are being created which will last for much longer in the future. A re-writing of history, a changing of Conservative meaning. This will have consequences for us all, especially the marginalized Christian because the new Conservative born will be made to hate him. Telling the truth and expressing an opinion of a current event is not mockery, and it is dangerous for Christians to be accusing one another of doing so when we sit at a dangerous time of what a bold Christian actually is to embody. This is the McCain Paradox. We tell a truth about the man and those around him in armory, but instead it appears to be negative and hateful. This is not so, especially when it is done simply and kindly as possible, in fact.
Ephesians 4:29-32 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
Yet, as to be separate from our neighbor Conservatives who do not understand the things of God, we must not be idle and empty in the truths we speak. When we state the facts, especially at this time, it must be with purpose and intended for informing not fighting. Sometimes our personalities might interfere and the way a statement is made may be misunderstood. So it is proper to know that the main purpose for all our discourse of McCain is to help those hurting and to stop those deceiving. All should know this is the time for Christ to be elevated and our words must relate to this. I, by far, am not perfect. I have the personality that I speak my mind because of being silenced for a long time. Sometimes I sin and come off wrong. We must give mercy to those who speak out of passion, especially because our purpose is truth.
Romans 12:2-5 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith. For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
In closing we must be as Christians, constantly in Scripture to know how we must present the truth and act in certain times, like this McCain issue. All of us are different, and it is not proper that we should offend our brethren. That is why I deleted my very first response. Needless to offend with what was a half empty opinion. We must use our gifts presented to us to get through this and to reach first one another and then our Conservative friends. Let them express their opinions and present the facts, but show how to correctly do so. That is what must be done. Others must not beat down the Christians who are trying to be factual and sensitive in doing so. This is timely and action is being called. Those with the abilities to do what is right will be doing them. Allow them to and not fight among one another. Be cohesive. Function as the Body because the times are dark and evil is being revealed.
