I’ve now been blogging, podcasting and tweeting for the past year, discussing what I believe to be important issues occurring within the church. Much of that has to do with spiritual abuse, false teaching and the “good guys” giving each other a pass that they wouldn’t give to others. It’s definitely been a roller coaster!
But here’s the thing: I’m not the GateKeeper… at least I’m not the only one. The church needs its pastors and congregations to act like GateKeepers for the protection of the church. We need more discernment. We need people to have the knowledge and understanding to be able to point out error and correct it with the truth. We need more voices.
I’m always looking for potential strategies that I believe will be a positive step in the right direction to point people to Christ & Biblical Truth. Because of that, I realized that my website, The GateKeepers, shouldn’t be just about me and my writings. No, it should a hub for discerning conversation about the issues affecting the church today. It should be an exchange of ideas, rationally discussing, explaining and sometimes even debating about what the truth actually is, always pointing back to Scripture as our source.
So, as of today, The GateKeepers website is no longer just a personal blog for me. I’m opening it up to other contributors.
Now, I want to be clear, just because they are writing for The GateKeepers, doesn’t mean that we agree on everything. There may be things that we disagree on. That’s fine! But what we do agree on are the essentials, such as The Gospel and the fact that God’s Word is infallible, inerrant, inspired and is our source for truth.
With that said, I’d like to officially welcome our two new contributors to The Gatekeepers: Dustin Faulkner and Schumann. These two men I’ve seen take a strong stand for truth on social media, and I’m looking forward to seeing their contributions to the conversation that needs to be had within the church. Their first articles shall be posted within the next few days... Stay tuned to hear from these guys!
As time passes, I will be adding more contributors. This is going to be a fun transition, and I’m looking forward to seeing where God leads into the future!
